about me my edits tutorials
Anonymous sent: Hey. I was just wondering how you did this edit? /post/23880473605/2-100-2ne1-pictures cos the picture has a 2ne1 logo on it and how did you remove it? lol

I used Photoshop CS 5 for that. You only need the Clone Stamp and the Smudge tool

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I’m not sure if you know how to use the Clone Stamp/Smudge-tool already so in case you don’t, I’ll explain it :)

Open your picture in PS, select the Clone Stamp and use these settings for it:

(Of course you have to change the size of your stamp depending on what kind of size you need)

Now you have to position your clone stamp over the part you want to copy and press Alt

Then you have to place the clone stamp over the part you want to paint over and just draw over it (it’s a bit difficult for me to put into words but when you try it yourself it should be really easy)

But I’m not perfect at using the clone stamp so sometimes my pictures end up looking like this:

Now that’s not really pretty, right?

To make this look a bit prettier I use the Smudge-tool. Select it and use these settings (Again, the size depends on whatever you need)

Now all I do is move around the smudge brush until I’m satisfied with the result (if it’s your first time using the smudge-tool I advice you to just play around with it and familiarize yourself with the way it works)

This is how it looks like in the end:

And that’s how I edit the whole picture until all the logos/writings are gone and the picture is all ~smooth~

If you’ve got any questions left feel free to ask again :)

Anonymous sent: I love your 2NE1 Scream edit! I was wondering, if it is not too much trouble, if you could give a tutorial on how you made it. Thank you for reading!

Thank you (*´▽`*)

This is going to be a rather long tutorial, prepare yourself lol

#1 I took the two pictures from this thread at YGL and opened them in Photoshop. The picture where the girls are wearing white/black is rather grainy so first of all I retouched it with the smudge-tool (since I don’t have Topaz I have to do it manually OTL)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I put the threshold to 15% and zoomed in on the picture

And now you basically just go over all the grainy parts until it’s smooth

Don’t worry if it looks a bit wonky, we’re still at the beginning~ (btw, the picture where the girls are wearing all black was fine so I didn’t do anything with that one)

#2 I put some (basic) colouring on both pictures. I also made the pictures brighter with a curves-layer (Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves) You can click anywhere on the curves-window-thingy (no idea how you call it lol) and drag the cursour until you’re satisfied with the brightness (I used 75[output]/50[input])

#3 Now it’s time for the polygon lasso. Trace the body outlines until you end up at your starting point again.

Copy the cut-out (Edit > Copy) and open it in a new window (File > New then Edit > Paste) [Do not close your previous window though, you still need it!]

You see that there’s still a little bit left from the background between Bom’s arm so use the polygon lasso again for that part

#4 Resize the picture (Image > Image size) I used 200 for height.

#5 Open a new file and set width/height to the size you want to use (I used 500x500)

Since the white background is a bit boring I filled the background with a very bright grey (#F6F6F6)

I also use this brush set to make the background a bit more filled out (the brush I used for my edit is the one at the thrid row from below on the very right side). Make a new layer (Layer > New > Layer) and just use the brush for the whole picture (I used the colour black btw) Now you just have to set it to overlay.

Paste the resized cut-out and place it anywhere you like.

If your cut-out is still too dark you can duplicate the layer and put it to screen (opacity: 60%, depending on the picture you might also want to use a lower number) Now right click on your layer copy and choose “Merge down

#6 Now you go back to your first window (with the orginal picture)

The cut-out line should still be around Bom, so you just colour the area with a colour of your choice (I used #F07474)

Copy the picture and open it in a new file again. Resize it to the same size you used for the previous cut-out (height: 200). Copy again and paste it into your 500x500 picture.

Paste the coloured cut-out underneath the other layers and drag the coloured cut-out to the same position of your original cut-out

You see that there’s still a red spot between Bom’s arm so you just cut that one out with the polygon lasso (make sure you’ve selcted your layer with the coloured cut-out)

#7 Drag the coloured cut-out a bit to the left

#8 Now you repeat exactly the same steps for the other 3 members until you’ve got all of your cut-outs gathered in the final picture. It’s quite a tedious process, isn’t it? (´・△・`)

#9 If you want to you can add some text. I used the font Saved by Zero to write “2NE1”

#10 When you’ve gathered all your cut-outs it’s time for the frame-animation

Duplicate all of your layers except for the first two (the background and the layer with the brush) and use the motion blur-tool (Filter > Blur > Motion Blur) for all of them (but only the copied layers!) [I used 20 for gap/space (not sure what it’s called in English)]

Set the settings for the frame-animation the same as shown here.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Now you have to make the little eyes next to the “normal” (i.e. the non-copied layers) disappear

Copy the frame and set the time to 0,5

Now make the little eyes next to the copied-layers disappear and make them appear next to the normal layers

And that’s basically how you make the animation (of course you have to do the same steps for the other cut-outs. I was too lazy to repeat the same steps for the other 3 so I’ll just use Bom as example ^^;;)

File > Save for web or press ctrl+alt+shift+s at the same time and use these settings

Click “save” and you’re done :)

I feel like I’ve explained this rather bad and made it more complicated than it actually is so…if you’ve got any questions left feel free to ask again ^^;;

Anonymous sent: If you don't mind you can please do a tutorial of your latest edit?

Sure :)

Note: I use Adobe Photoshop CS5 (and I own the German version so I’m not 100% sure what the different tools/effects are called in English)

#1 As always: get your picture ready (I’ll use the same picture as I used in my original post) and open it in Photoshop.

#2 Select the Polygon Lasso and trace the body. Deselct the eye next to the background-layer. If there are little spaces (like in this picture, between the arm because of the pose) you have to try to avoid the space by cutting the silhouette out in different pieces. I’m probably explaining this way more difficult than it actually is lol Just look at the pictures:

Also, as you can see I’m not tracing the line of the body perfectly. Just try to stay as close to the body form as possible.

#3 Repeat the same process for the other bodies so that at the end it looks like this:

#4 Since my original picture is too big I now want to resize it. I used 500(width)

#5 After that I put some colouring (you don’t have to though, it’s up to you). Now get your other pictures you want to use and make sure that you paste them underneath your original layer (with the cut out silhouettes)

#6 After you’ve pasted the picture underneath the layer you already see that the picture spreads over the other silhouettes as well. You have to select the Eraser and simply erase the parts of the picture over the other three silhouettes. (Make sure that you’ve selected the layer with your picture)

Repeat the same with your next pictures until you have used up all the pictures you wanted to use. (I used 8 pictures in total, meaning 2 pictures in each silhouette)

#7 Click the Frame-Animation button at the bottom in order to make the animation.

#8 Click the little arrows and select the settings as shown in the pictures. (The timing “0.5 sec” is just a suggestion, you can choose whatever timing you want)

#9 Deselect the first 4 “little eyes” as shown in the picture. (Of course this depends on how many people are in the picture. If there are 5 people you’ll have 5 pictures, 3 people = 3 pictures and so on)

#10 Click the Duplicate button in order to duplicate the frame.

#11 Click on the second frame then deselect the other 4 pictures and select the first 4.

#12 Press ctrl + alt + shift + s at the same time and adjust the settings to your liking.

And you’re finished :D I’m not sure if there are actually easier ways to make this but these are my steps and it’s the easiest way for me.

If you have any questions left, message me :)

gen-unkei sent: excuse me, if u don't mind can u tell me how to do the effect of the "DBSK" gif that u made? ^^ *where all the albums art appeared under the word "DBSK"* thanks so much <3

I’ll try to explain it as well as possible. (note that I’m neither a pro at PS nor a native english speaker lol)

As always I use Photoshop CS5.

#1 Pretty simple step: gather all the pics you want to use for the gif (usually I try to use less than ten pics or else the quality of the gif might drop because of tumblr’s 500kb limit). You can use them just the way they are or edit them the way you like it. In my example I’ll just use the pictures without any editing because I’m lazy OTL

Also, make sure the pictures you use are at least as big as the size of the gif you want to create or else the pictures won’t fit.

#2 Open a new file in Photoshop. I used 500(width) x 350(height)

#3 Write the name of the band/person/etc in black by selecting the type tool and place the word in the middle. (The font I use is called American Purpose) Depending on how long the word is you might want to adjust the size of the font. For the word “DBSK” I used the size 250pt.

(click the pictures for bigger resolution)

If the white background is too bland for you, you can fill it with another colour. Just make sure it’s not too dark. (If you want a dark background you have to make your font white)

#4 Click the “fx” button at the bottom and choose “stroke” (make sure you’ve selected the layer with your writing)

You can use the same inputs as me:

size = 3px

opacity = 100%

“außen” = outside, colour = #000000 (same as the font)

#5 Combine the layer and background (right-click on the background and choose “merge visible”)

#6 Right click on background and choose “layer from background”

#7 Choose the magic wand tool, select one letter with it, then choose “cut”. Repeat this process until you’ve cut out each letter.

At the end it should look like this

#8 It’s finally time to make use of the pictures you’ve gathered. For this tutorial I’ll use just 3 pictures (of course you can use more, it’s always the same step)

Copy the picture you want to use, paste it into your file and make sure that the layer of the picture is below your original layer (with the cut-out writing)

Do the same thing with the other picture(s) you’d like to use. (At this point you might also notice that the bigger the picture you want to use is, the better it is because it’s easier to move the picture around and make sure that no ones face is getting blocked by a letter lol)

#9 Now it’s time to make the gif. Click the “frame-animation” button at the bottom

#10 Click on the little eyes next to your top pictures so that only one picture is left with the little eye.

#11 Duplicate your frame so that the number of your frames matches the number of your pictures (i.e. I used 3 pictures so I want to have 3 frames)

#12 Select your 2nd frame and make the layer above your first picture visible again by clicking the empty box next to it.

Select the next frame and make the next picture visible.

If you have more pictures just repeat the same process.

#13 After that you have to set the timing of your images. First of all select the “unbegrenzt” (unlimited?) option by clicking the arrow next to “einmal” (once?)

After that click the arrow next to “10 sec” and choose the time you like the best (you can check how fast the images are going by clicking the play-button). I usually use 0,3 sec by clicking “others” and then typing “0,3” but it’s really up to you what you prefer.

Repeat the same process for your other frames.

#14 If you want to add some text like I did in my original gif just select your original layer (the one with the cut-out writing) and choose the type tool again (the font I use is called barcode font). Place your text wherever you want it.

#15 Press ctrl + alt + shift + s (at the same time) to save the gif.

“Save” and you’re done :)

I hope everything was understandable. If not just message me :D

Anonymous sent: hi!! what are your motion blur steps, if you dont mind?

Do you mean how to make an effect like the picture in the middle?

I’m not sure how often you already used Photoshop CS5 so I’ll try to explain in it as many steps as possible :)

#1 Okay, the first step is to have your picture ready (edited or non-edited, that’s your choice)

This is my example of picture

#2 Now you have to duplicate your layer (right-click on your layer)

#3 Now it’s time for the motion blur tool (you can also see my usual settings in the second picture, but you can play around with the numbers to your liking) Also, make sure that you use the effect for the copy of your layer

(angle: 0 ; gap(?): 20)

#4 After that you have to click this little button down there (I have no idea what it’s called in the english version orz)

after you clicked the button it should look like this

#5 Duplicate the frame

#6 Click the first frame, then click that little eye next to the copy of your layer so that it disappears

#7 Click the 2nd frame and click the little box next to the copy of your layer so that the little eye appears again (oh god I suck at explaining lmao)

#8 Now all that’s left to do is to adjust the timing of the effect. Click the arrow next to the “10 Sek.” on your 1st frame (I usually use 1,0 but again it’s up to you)

Do the same for your 2nd frame but choose a smaller number (for example 0,2)

#9 The last step is to choose the “unbegrenzt” (again, I’m not sure what it’s called in other versions, “unlimited”?) option. You can find this option by clicking the little arrow next to “einmal”

(you can click the “play” button to see what your animation looks like)

Save the animation (ctrl + alt + shift + s), adjust the settings to your liking (my usual settings are this), click save and you’re done :)

this is what my final outcome looked like

I kind of suck at explaining so please tell me if you still have any questions :) (and also tell me if I completely misunderstood your question lol)

edit: the pictures are kind of small…I hope you still can see everything D:
